Felt like home, nothing was too much trouble.

The outside area is mind-blowing, perfect for relaxing or having a bbq. The kitchen equipment is super, perfect for long term stays. The bathrooms are alright! The accommodation is jaw-droppingly cheap!

Mount Backpackers is located just steps away from the beautiful beach and on the central business and dining street. You can easily stroll to cool restaurants and enjoy delicious meals without having to go far. the rooms are cozy and comfortable, providing a good night's sleep after a fun-filled day exploring the area. the staff is friendly and always willing to help, ensuring a pleasant stay.

I recently stayed at this place and had a fantastic experience. the location couldn't be more perfect. It's situated in the heart of the action, surrounded by bars and just a short stroll to the beach and the stunning Mount Maunganui. Secondly, the service was top-notch. They offer bicycle hire, which was a great way to explore the area. The housekeeping staff kept everything spotless, and the laundry service was a convenient bonus. Lastly, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They were always available to answer any questions and assist with any requests.

We stayed at this backpackers for a weekend and it was a great experience. the location couldn't be better, with everything we needed just a short walk away. The wooden boardwalk is a pleasant stroll that takes you to the base of Mauao, the towering mountain that overlooks the stunning Pilot Bay. Walking on the boardwalk feels like taking a leisurely journey towards a majestic destination. The Mount Brewing company's main street bar offers locally brewed beer of the finest quality. Sipping on a cold, refreshing drink here feels like tasting a piece of the town's soul, crafted with love and passion. Guests can choose from fishing on a Kayak, kayaking around the Mount, or taking a memorable trip to the Glow worm Canyon on McLaren lake. These adventures provide an unforgettable experience, filled with excitement and natural beauty. Pilot Bay is the best place to view magnificent cruise ships up close. Standing on the shore, witnessing these grand vessels sailing by feels like being in the presence of majestic giants. Moturiki Island is also the best place to fish in this area. Casting a line from its shores gives you a sense of anticipation, as if you're playing a game of hide and seek with the fish beneath the crystal-clear waters.

Parking was limited during the New Year period.

The facilities at Mount Backpackers were great for a long term stay over winter. The well-equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals and save money. Jo, the owner, was helpful with information about the town and what activities were happening. The location was also a major plus, being the closest and most affordable option near the beach. I would definitely recommend this hostel.

The location was great, right in the centre of everything. the beach was just a short walk away and there were plenty of restaurants and bars close by. the hostel had some great facilities out in the courtyard, perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring.

The noise from the nearby nightclubs could be a bit overwhelming at times, so it's important to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
